Our Approach

Accountability Works Better When It Is Built Into How People Work

Most organizations treat accountability as a conversation that happens after something goes wrong. CGP takes a different approach. We help leaders build clarity, shared ownership, feedback, and learning into everyday work so stronger results and stronger relationships reinforce each other.

A practical, psychologist-led system grounded in the published Conscious Accountability framework.

The Conscious Accountability Process

A clear path from insight to everyday practice

The process combines a consistent change journey with flexible levels of intervention. The 3 Pillars diagnose where accountability gets stuck. CONNECT provides the practices. The CA Process creates the path for those practices to take root.

  1. Starting Point

    Discover where accountability gets stuck.

A focused entry experience helps leaders see the current pattern before choosing a solution.

  2. Phase 1Clarity

See what is happening and what needs to change.

Surface patterns. Clarify goals, roles, expectations, interdependencies, and growth edges. Build a focused development path.

  3. Phase 2Courage

Practice new ways of working together.

Build the skills to speak up, clarify ownership, exchange feedback, work through conflict, and make commitments that hold.

  4. Phase 3Continuity

Turn new practices into the way work gets done.

Apply the learning to real work. Reflect, coach, reconnect, close loops, and try again until the practices become habits.

  5. Outcome

Accountability becomes how work gets done.

People know what matters and what they own. They say what needs to be said. They follow through, learn, and adjust.

How the CA system fits together

  • 3 PillarsWhere is accountability getting stuck: Clarity, Courage, or Continuity?Diagnoses the conditions that need attention.
  • CONNECTWhat do people need to practice differently?Provides the seven practices of Conscious Accountability.
  • CA ProcessHow do those practices take root over time?Creates the repeatable path from diagnosis to behavior change and sustained application.

The same process at three levels

Individual / Executive

Before state
A capable leader with accountability patterns that may rely on habit, instinct, or context. Growth edges are not yet fully visible or prioritized.
Entry experience
Discovery and diagnostic session. Clarify goals, current patterns, and what would make the biggest difference.
Create clarity
Define individual growth edges. Clarify leadership priorities, expectations, key relationships, and development goals. Build a focused development plan.
Practice courage
Practice the CA skills that matter most in real leadership situations. Use coaching, reflection, and action learning to turn insight into behavior.
Reinforce continuity
Apply the practices between sessions. Use ongoing coaching and reflection to notice patterns, adjust, and try again. Shift to lighter reinforcement as new habits take hold.
After state
A leader with clearer intentions, stronger accountability habits, and a repeatable way to learn and adjust.

Team / Department

Before state
A capable team with uneven clarity, candor, follow through, or shared ownership. Accountability may depend too heavily on individual effort.
Entry experience
Team kickoff and diagnostic. Understand team dynamics, interdependencies, and where accountability gets stuck.
Create clarity
Clarify goals, roles, decision rights, interdependencies, expectations, and success measures. Define team growth edges and build a team development plan.
Practice courage
Practice Conscious Accountability on the team’s real work. Build skills in clarity, engagement, execution, noticing, feedback, ownership, conflict, and repair.
Reinforce continuity
Use action learning, pulse checks, team coaching, and regular reflection. Close loops, revisit commitments, and turn lessons into the next round of work.
After state
A team with shared language, clearer ownership, more candid dialogue, stronger follow through, and better learning.

Organization

Before state
Accountability varies across functions, leaders, and teams. Shared language, expectations, and practices are inconsistent.
Entry experience
Organizational kickoff and diagnostic. Identify system patterns, priority growth edges, and the few shifts with the greatest leverage.
Create clarity
Align on the desired accountability culture. Clarify priority behaviors, leadership expectations, success measures, and the path for rollout.
Practice courage
Build shared capability through targeted learning and application. Equip leaders and teams with common practices and tools while adapting the work to local needs.
Reinforce continuity
Reinforce through Communities of Practice, coaching, pulse checks, follow up learning, and ongoing application. Use what is learned to refine the approach over time.
After state
Accountability becomes a shared way of working, with common language, visible practices, stronger ownership, and continuous learning across the system.

The process is consistent across levels. The depth, pace, and mix of learning, coaching, and reinforcement are tailored to the client context.
